The goal at each of our sober living houses is to help our members maintain their sobriety when they graduate from one of our sober living houses. Friends and family of house members are encouraged to learn about the structure and philosophies of our sober living in order to help their loved ones continue to use these tools on the outside. Staying sober is a lifelong process that starts at New Life House.

Sober Living for Men in Los Angeles, California

In 1994, Perry separated the age groups and opened a second sober living house for men in the Torrance, California area to accommodate the older adults. New Life House’s success in working with young men began to take off once the guys began living with their own peers. We restore hope, dignity and stability by delivering donated furniture to families recovering from homelessness.

Long-term use can result in severe physical New Life House Review and mental health issues. Separate treatment for men or women can create strong peer connections and remove barriers related to trauma, shame, and gender-specific nuances. These structured living environments help people transition out of rehab. Residents have more freedom than they do during rehab, but still follow certain rules. At the time, long-term, sober living resident services for teens and young men in Los Angeles were unavailable. Soon after admitting the younger people, certain things became apparent. The disparity in their emotional ages, social skills, and life experiences was significant enough to require different approaches for each group of men for sobriety. New Life Manor is an OASAS-licensed treatment facility specializing in substance use disorder. Under the guidance of certified staff participants at this 24-bed halfway house learn the benefits of sobriety, how to identify triggers that lead to relapse, and develop a treatment plan that works.
I started volunteering with New Life Warehouse shortly after it began, after hearing about it through my church. I serve as the Deliveries Coordinator, which means I get to connect with our amazing team of volunteers to help organize and schedule deliveries for the families we serve. I absolutely love the community here and the friendships I’ve built along the way. One of my favorite parts is seeing the smiles on the faces of the families when their homes are fully staged—and having the opportunity to share the love of Jesus with them. My husband Ray is always willing to load up his truck and help with deliveries, and I love that this ministry gives us the chance to serve together.
I consider it an honor to be part of this meaningful work and am grateful to help steward this mission alongside such a passionate and committed team. I learned about New Life Warehouse from a monthly neighborhood article featuring the founder, Stephanie Haile. I was so moved by her mission that I started collecting ,volunteering, staging, and delivering. However, it is highly recommended that teens and young adults remain in a sober living home for at least a year to a year and a half. This offers teens and young adults the best chance at achieving emotional and physical recovery from addiction. Halfway houses—also referred to as sober living homes—are residential homes that provide a drug-free and alcohol-free environment for people in early recovery. These houses are a transitional program for individuals who have completed an inpatient treatment program. Similarly, they are a housing option while patients are in an outpatient treatment program.

After hearing all the wonderful things they are doing to help families make a fresh start by furnishing their homes, I knew that I wanted to be a part of this incredible mission. The work they do is truly transformative and is changing the lives of families in our community for the better.
Everything from traditional college programs to professional certifications and trade schools, we help support each young man to identify, pursue and achieve their dreams. As a Guardian ad Litem, I saw first hand the many needs of the foster families and the parents reuniting with their children. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved. Dr. Josh Lichtman is an experienced psychiatrist who has been practicing for close to two decades.

Teens receive the treatment they need for mental health disorders and addiction, with the added support of educational and vocational services.
